There is no psi with a running compressor.

It runs but there is no psi and of course no air coming out the hose.

That's a real pain in the backside, isn't it. Looks like it's running, sounds like it's running, but no pressure builds up in the tank.

You aren't alone. This is the single biggest issue that I get questions on. I've prepared an information page about it.
