My work compressor runs until it pops the relief valve on the unit. How do you adjust the pressure switch? there are 2 springs with a nut on each, 1 tall, 1 short, which is which?

Regardless of which is high pressure cut out and which is low pressure cut in the issue is, unless you modified one of them, your compressor should cut out at the normal pressure level.

If it is not doing that, and power continues to run to the motor when the pressure gets past the normal cut out pressure setting (which means that the pressure switch has not tripped off the power) then you need to replace the pressure switch, not adjust the cut out levels.
