"The Bull" by Rol Air - Air Compressor just quit
by Andy Ade
(Omak, Wa.)
I have a "The Bull" by Rol Air. In cold temp it was slow to build up RPM (5 sec) then it ran fine. Oil and maintenance are all good. Now last week in about 35 degree temp it did the same slow build up and then stopped like the power was cut. No smoke no funny noises just quit like an overload switch would do. Any ideas? Did the piston sieze? any remedies?? Thanks.
Bill wonders...Hello Andy.
Just quit, huh? Where was it plugged in? Did that outlet still have power after the compressor quit?
I'm thinking two things. One, your unloader valve isn't working, and two, the oil was so cold that it had to overcome that, and in trying to do so, the motor pulled too many amps, and blew a fuse or breaker.
Let me know, OK?
Bill
