Switch spring location on Brute air compressor

by Donald King

I know how generic that sounds but it is what I need to know.

My compressor is a Brute. It's 10 gal. max 125 psi unit for light home DIY application. It is powered by Briggs and Stratton and any searches on the pressure switch ends up at B & S.

The OEM number for the switch is 201826GS.

The points started sticking so I took it apart to clean them up. In the process a spring bent to approx. 120 degrees with tension coil in the middle and each end bent to "hook" for mounting came loose before I could see its location an now I can't get it back in place.

I am pretty sure it's purpose is to hold the points "bar" stable as the contacts move on their own springs to perform the on/off function. (I may have that just opposite, not sure)

Is there any way you can help? An exploded view of the switch would be a big help.

Thanks,
Donald King

Spring photo
by: Bill

I know. Annoying isn't it. I have requested this change many times, so far to no avail.

Please start a new thread, cross reference it to this one, and then you can upload up to four images.

I'll move them to this location.

Spring issue

I am having the same issue with the small spring with hooks on both ends. I took a picture and tried to copy and paste it here but site wouldn't allow it.

pressure switch?
by: Doug in s.d.ca

I dunno - not finding the part, sure that's the right number?

Can you get a pic or three of it and post (new post, same title so Bill can find and move)?
