Sullivan 210D Running Away!!!!!

by Scott J
(Buffalo)

I've got a Sullivan 210D with a John Deere diesel motor. I live in WNY and it's been exceptionally cold this winter. It seems that on the sub-freezing days only, the motor starts to running away immediately or soon after startup. I hear what sounds like an air valve exhaust start leaking and away it goes. Luckily I have been close by each time to shut it down.

Any ideas if it is a stuck valve, frozen line, or worse a motor issue?
Thanks!

Are you getting pressure?

Tried both regulators?

Could be pressure switch.

Not sure what motor control is, but if it's air cylinder, then maybe connection to that is broken.

If all else fails, can you get it into a heated area to see if that makes a difference?
