Suitability of this Speedaire compressor

I have a NEW Model 52702A twin pump Speedaire compressor with twin Baldor 3HP/3PH motors that I got at a VERY GOOD price.

I know it was for heating and air conditioning applications and was to run from 70-90 PSI.

Can I modify the settings for it to run 125-150 PSI without problems in my home shop?

I realize the unit is overkill for a home shop, but I run a sand blaster, paint sprayer, air tools, etc and it should last forever the way I use it.

Jerry, all I can say for sure is that if the air compressor was built to run at 125-150 PSI, the pressure switch would have been factory preset at that pressure level.

I tried to find information about the Speedaire Model 52702A air compressor with no success.

If you are prepared to take a risk, then reset the cut out pressure at your 125 PSI. You may find that the PRV lets go before you reach that level, and using it at the higher pressure may shorten the life expectancy.

Did you think to ask Grainger?

Cheers,

Bill
