Steady relief of compressed air from Air Receiver

by Michael Ezebuiro

We have an Atlas Copco black start (diesel engine driven) compressor that has a relief pressure setting higher than that the pressure setting of our air Receiver tank. The relief valve on the Air Receiver is constantly relieving. How do I re-set or adjust the P of the compressor to lower that the 8bar of the air Receiver RV?

Always been a problem Michael, or just started?

The relief pressure setting you refer to is the unload pressure setting, allowing the motor to idle, is that correct?

There has to be a pressure switch in the circuit, and if it is a typical model, it will have adjusting nuts inside for cut in and cut out.

It seems odd to me that your tank PRV is letting go at 8 bar / 120 PSI. That seems low.

Cheers,

Bill
