Speedaire model 4GB42 portable air compressor - stalls on overheat

Runs great for about an hour,then stalls and will not keep running until it cools down. it doesn't appear to be over heating? Once it cools,it will run for about another hour.

You say it runs great for an hour. Hmmmm, is it supposed to run that long without it cooling down? Check out the page on duty cycle to see if that seems to be it.

What else is pulling power from the same electrical supply that might be sucking amperage? If something else is turning on, does it coincide with the compressor overheating? A draw down in current to the motor might cause overheating.
