Speedaire Compressor Rebuild

Greetings,

I have a Speed Aire Compressor that I am planning on rebuilding around the first of the year. I am not worried about doing the job but I need an idea of how long I can expect the job to take. Could you please give me some insight?

Thank you

Speed Aire 5Z689A

Two Stage Duplex Air Compressor, 2 Cylinders at 10 horsepower, Horizontal Tank, 230 volt/460 volt at 60 Hertz, 82 inches x 30 inches x 59 inches

Bill responds...

Howdy and thanks for writing in.

I guess the only honest answer I can give is...I haven't a clue how long it will take you. :-)

Do you have all the parts for your Speedaire? Have you done it before? Are you comfortable handling the tools?

All things being ready, and finding no major "ouches", you should be able to take it apart and put it back together in a day or so.

Good luck. It's an adventure I won't undertake. I'll use my Repairs page to find a compressor shop and have them rebuild it for me, if I want it rebuilt.

Bill
