Speedaire 5Z401B milky white oil

by george
(Dallas,TX)

Every month or so I have to change the pump oil, because it is milky white. I assume it has water in it, if so how/why?

George, if you read the pages on compressor generated water, you'll find out all about how compressors turn water vapor into free water.

Then, as to how the water gets from the air stream into your sump... well, that suggests that your intake air is quite high in humidity and that you've got some air leaks past the piston seals into the sump where the warm, moist air condenses into water, and mixes with the oil.

Speedaire air compressor - model 5Z181 - tank part #ARO21600JH

by Susan

We are trying to locate a new tank to replace original one.
Is this available?

Since I don't sell compressor parts myself, I have no idea. Grainger might be able to help you.

You don't need to use an OEM tank, however.

As long as you can add your pump to any compressor tank and connect the supply from the pump to the tank check valve, and to the unloader, use any compressor tank you can find that works.

speedaire 3z413 has air leaking out of a 90 degree elbow

by PHIL HINES
(CREST HILL, IL.)

I HAVE AIR LEAKING OUT OF A 90 DEGREE ELBOW AT THE END OF THE CASE (SMALL HOLE ON BOTTOM OF THE ELBOW CRANKSHAFT HEIGHTH)AND IT DOES NOT SEEM TO BLEED AIR OF WHEN IT SHUTS DOWN ANYMORE ANY HELP THANKS
________________
Phil, when you say "AT THE END OF THE CASE" is the case you are referring to the pressure switch, by chance?

If you have air bleeding out when the compressor is running, I would suspect the unloader valve is failing or has stopped working properly.

Still, it's hard to be certain when I can't see where the air is bleeding out.

This is a twin cylinder 25 HP air compressor, isn't it?

Speedaire, model # 9x750, serial #l114/2/98-00024. What is the CFM rating for this model? I am looking for CFM rating of about 17CFMs. Thanks David

I need a compressor that delivers a CFM rating of about 17 CFMs, to spray motar mix on walls via a hopper. Can I go by PSI, horsepower or strictly CFM? Thanks David
________________
David, I cannot find the specifications for this compressor, so don't know if it can deliver the CFM you want.

Check out the Sizing pages on this site for information about determining the right size of air compressor based on flow requirement.
