Slow on building pressure and air comes out intake filter?

I have a type 30 Ingersoll Rand and just finished rebuilding the top end as well as new rings I also just finished putting a new 5hp single stage motor on it. The compressor builds pressure slowly and stops at 80 psi. I have noticed it is blowing some air out the intake. What is wrong? Or what should I look for? I know it should not be blowing air out the intake.

While I can't be sure, I would look to a blown or improperly seated gasket, or the intake valves.
