Size of compressor needed, please

by Hasan Salhab
(Saida, Lebanon)

Dears,

We are trying to buy an air compressor to our facility that is capable for supplying air to 4 airless spray paint equipment, and 4 powder coating guns, in addition to three hoses for drying washed metals.

We kindly ask you to help us figuring out the right type and size of the air compressor required.

It's not something that can be done from afar, Hasan.

Each of your air using equipment will have information about the flow of compressed air needed, and the minimum operating pressure for that equipment. These demands are added together.

Your hoses for drying washed parts could have a huge air demand. See this page on pressure loss for more info.

There is no short cut. You have to find out the demands of all the equipment you have now, what you plan to add, and tally all of those demands to come up with a flow and pressure specification which you then use to select your air compressor.

Good luck.

Bill
