SIP Airmate Nimbus 50 air compressor

Hi, I have an SIP Airmate Nimbus 50 (model 06234) which will not build any air pressure in the tank at all.

I have changed the reed valves, gaskets etc in the head with genuine parts.

when i remove the pipe from the check valve to the pressure switch, there is plenty of air being pumped through but still nothing on the gauge.

If air is leaving the head and making its way through the tank feed pipe to the check valve, could it be a fault with the check valve itself?
Thanks Dean

SIP Airmate Nimbus 50 pressure

A compressor pump that is not building air in the tank can still blow a lot of low pressure air out the tank line or line over to the pressure switch.

The problem occurs when the tank pressure starts to build and the air, as it will always do, seeks out an easier path.

Your surmise about the tank check valve is a good one, and do remove it and check it. See how on the check valve pages on this site.

If the valves and gaskets are good, and the tank check valve works OK, then I'm afraid the next check would be the condition of the piston seal.

A quick check would be to feel if any air is coming out of the oil fill tube when the compressor is running. If so, that's a pretty good sign that the piston seal(s) is/are leaking.
