Should I lubricate the piston ring or the cylinder barrel on my Bostitch compressor?

I want to replace the piston ring and was wondering if I should lubricate the cylinder barrel with a silicoe spray lubricant or other dry lube.

Also the connecting rod cover is held on with a Torx screw that is Loctited in. What is he best way of removing the screw without the head breaking off?

Thanks

Depends on what the ring of.

Directions should come with the ring if it needs lube.

The screw: obviously get a proper Torx driver.
The Loctite (if that's what it is) is probably just to keep people out of there, and probably not really needed, but I'd be inclined to use it on reassembly, just in case.
