Senco Air Compressor

I'm assuming it's some kind of safety mechanism below the on/off switch that gets triggered when the tank reaches capacity while on. If I pull the plug when it reaches capacity it will hold the air but if I leave it plugged in and the switch in the on position it will release the air only to then turn back on a continuous cycle of filling the tank and releasing, filling, releasing, so on as so forth.

The 'safety mechanism' I mentioned earlier is triggers as soon as I turn the power switch to the off position regardless if the machine is plugged in or not or if the tank contains any pressure or not.

There is a spring attached to the leaver of this 'safety mechanism' that I can see pulling the leaver forward to depress the air release pin. I wondered if I had a broken component inside that was allowing the leaver to slip but nothing jus mode out to me as worn or broken.

Any ideas of what's happening and how to fix it?

Senco compressor tank emptying

From your description I think you will find that the tank check valve is leaking.

If you are not sure what that is and how it works, read both the unloader valve and tank check valve pages to see how these two devices work together, or in your case, may not be working together.
