Sears craftsman overfills then hums, trips motor breaker?

It's a Sears craftsman 5hp 25 gallon. 125v.

Air compressor overfills, releases pressure to max psi then tries to restart, hums, trips motor breaker?

My air compressor will fill up then stop when it's supposed to sometimes. Other times after I use some air it will kick back on and over full slightly, vent pressure but try ad kick back on again (at 125-150 psi) and just hums then pops the motor circuit breaker button.

Overfilling

This is a big issue, if the Craftsman keeps filling past the normal cut out. Could be the pressure switch is pooched, could be the starter if there is one on the motor.

As to restarting, humming and blowing breakers is covered on a number of pages on this site, along with scenarios as to why, and solutions for those problems.
