Saylor 707 compressor - Oil leaking from crankshaft seal
I have a 3 months old Saylor 707 compressor and it is leaking oil from the crankshaft seal flywheel side. Can a clogged breather cap cause this problem.

As I understand it, the oil sump breather cap is there to allow air to wick into the sump and the oil level lessens during compressor use. Some oil will always wick out of the sump, and if the sump was sealed, it would pull a vacuum and cause problems.
Therefore, I don't see how a blocked breather cap would cause the seal to leak.
Other views are welcome, if you figure I'm right out to lunch (which, funnily enough, I'm on right now while I write this).
Cheers,
