Sanborn ~ How to wire a 30 amp 2 pole 110\120 v contactor coil to a pressure switch.

This is a sanborn 80 gal 220/5 hp motor.

What I am trying to figure out is the why the 110 v side of the pressure switch to the magnentic pick up 110 v contactor coil does not draw the magnentic pick up in?

It worked when I put 220 to the coil of contactor but it burned up the wires on the coil.
