Sanborn has power to black box
by: Bill

If the black box you refer to is what I understand to be the Pressure Switch Ken, (please see that page on this site for a complete description and operation) and you have confirmed power is coming to the switch from the wall plug, then do this.

Unplug the compressor. Drain the tank all the way to 0 PSI. Plug the compressor back in.

Remove the cover of the switch. Do NOT do this if you are not comfortable with or experienced with electrical devices. There are live wires inside.

Use a multi-meter to double check that power is getting to the power side of the switch, where the power cord connects onto the pressure switch terminals.

If power is there, check on the motor side. If no power is there, it's time to replace the pressure switch.

If power is there, then it's time to check the capacitors on the motor. See that page on this site too.
