pumps up to 75 pounds and acts like there's pressure against the head the belts start slipping, and sometimes it quits

if it gets past that point it will pump up to 90 pounds but it struggles, after 90 it takes right off and runs free till 120 pounds and then shuts off i can hear the pressure switch kick off, do you have any advise on this?

Is this model a twin cylinder, Shawn?

It sounds like something is interfering with the air flow path. Odd that it occurs only at 90 PSI and once past that pressure, runs OK up to cut out.

Tell me a bit more about the compressor including number of cylinders, how old, well used or not... and also check to be sure that the belt has correct tension and that the motor to pump belt path is straight and tight.
