Runs, but seems like there is too much internal pressure inside the engine, and will eventually blow house fuse. There is plenty of oil.

I start the compressor and it runs for a few minutes, but seems like it is running tight, then it will blow the house fuse. It is usually at about 25psi or so.

Tom, if it starts and runs to 25 PSI and then blows the breaker, that tells me that the load the motor is drawing is exceeding the capacity of the supply circuit, and the fuse blows.

The increasing load may be caused by a failing motor, or it might be caused by something mechanical in the pump that is reacting to the higher pressure in the tank, and overloading the motor.

I'd start with pulling the motor and capacitor and taking them to a local electric motor rebuild shop for load testing.

Cheers,

Bill
