Running the compressor sounds different than before, like engine knocking

Is there somthing I can do to service the engine block to stop it from knocking when it's running, even though it still produces compressed air and shuts down normally when it's full according to the gage.

James, all I can suggest is to make sure that if it is an oil lubed compressor you have, that the oil is at the appropriate level.

Electro-mechanical devices fail eventually, and though you don't say so, if yours is an older model, or having been well used, then things begin to fail.

Cheers,

Bill
