Rolair 1500 hpv5 portable 1.5 HP motor

the compressor will not stop running.

it will build up 100 psi past the valve but the tank never gets above 60 psi.

the little brass valve (check)on the copper line is leaking air.

can this valve go bad or is it stuck?

James, since I don't have your compressor in front of me, I'm not sure what little brass valve you refer to. If it is the unloader valve that is bleeding air while the compressor is running, then I suggest you read the page CHECK VALVE which will explain why this happens.

And... I'm not quite sure what this - "it will build up 100 psi past the valve but the tank never gets above 60 psi." means. Could you explain further.

Regardless, if the valve is leaking, stop that leak, and then write back if the problem persists.
