Rol air compressor motor dies off at 60 PSI

rol-air gas compressor. Engine shuts down when pressure builds up to about 60psi. Any possible causes?

Gas compressors are demand type. They run continuously, and the pressure switch toggles the compression or non-compression of air though a throttle mechanism.

Normal cut out pressures would lower the RPM of the motor, until the pressure level dropped through air use, and the pressure switch would "see" that lower pressure, send a signal, and increase the motor RPM.

The your compressor is shutting off at 60 PSI suggests to me that it is a pressure switch failure or a throttle valve failure you are dealing with.

If 60 PSI is the normal cut in pressure, the switch is sending the signal to the throttle, and it's responding by cutting fuel to the motor.

If 60 PSI is below the normal cut in pressure, then look to the switch maybe shorting and grounding the power, and maybe this is killing the motor.

Cheers,

Bill
