re-set button always trips on my electric 2 hp 125 psi air compressor

turn it on, starts to compress air & kicks out at the set psi of 110, use air tool & pressure drops, kicks in for awhile & re-set button trips.

Victor, it is possible that it's caused by not enough voltage getting to the motor. If you are using an extension cord, don't! What else is pulling power from the same circuit when your air compressor is running?

It could also be caused by heat related load increase. Is it oil lubed? Oil OK?

Give us some feedback on this, and we'll press on if we can.

Cheers,

Bill

How long is your awhile ? ? does the compressor restart at all ? ?

or it only tries to start and trips the reset? ?

if it only tries to start and trips, then you may have a compressor trying to start against the pressure in the tank, like a non working unloader.

Or a low voltage due to long extension cord, plug it directly into the wall, even better, in a socket close to the breaker box...
using a power strip... don't. they are not for the kind of power a compressor takes, check the amps rating of the strip and the peak start amps of your compressor...
