Relief valve that covers the hole over the piston.

Speedaire 3Z355 on tailgate
Obsolete Speedaire 3z355g (no longer supported by Granger).
I have found out that this compressor was built by Campbell Hausefield for Granger, and like Granger it is no longer supported.
The parts that I am looking for are flat metal shims aprox. 3/4" X 2 1/2" that relieve the compressed air and allow it to go to the tank and closing off the hole when the piston moves back down the cylinder. One of the pieces is thicker than the other.
I can speculate this compressor is 20 years or older. I just got it knowing that it didn't work but my friend had bought a new one.
I am running into walls looking for these parts, and may need to give up, but thought I would give it a try here.
Bill comments...Hello John, and thanks for writing in.
It sounds to me like what you are looking for are the reeds for the reed valves that control the air flow into the compressor when it's cycling.
I'm glad to post your request here. Do talk to a local repair depot and see if they can steer you to a reed valve supplier for help too.
Cheers,
Bill
