Quincy compressor slow building pressure

I have a Quincy one lung air compressor that when it starts running it free wheels for a long time before it starts building pressure.

Sounds to me like it might be related to a gasket leak, that tightens up when the compressor heats up and the metal expands.
Do the checks referred to on the pages linked from this one and see if that helps point out the problem for you.
Cheers,
Bill
