Pump is slow to start

When you turn the pump on, it starts running but after a few seconds begins to slow then stops. What needs fixed? thanks,

For the few seconds it's running, is air being pumped into the tank?

Could be a restriction on air to the tank (check valve not opening), could be a mechanical failure in the pump back loading the motor (though the motor likely wouldn't start at all if this was the case ), I'm guessing that you may have a motor problem, and as soon as it gets under load it hasn't enough power to continue running.

I'd pull the motor and take it to a motor rebuild shop for a test, it were me.

Cheers,

Bill
