PUMP COMPRESSION ~ IT DOESN'T HAVE ANY OR VERY MUCH COMPRESSION

by TODD BOOHER

WHEN I SHUT OFF THE COMPRESSOR IT SEEMS THAT WHEN IT'S COMING TO A STOP IT DOESN'T HAVE ANY OR VERY MUCH COMPRESSION. IT SEEMS LIKE RUNS CONSTANTLY AND WONT BUILD MORE THAN 110 PSI. THERE IS ANOTHER COMPRESSOR NEXT TO THIS ONE AND YOU CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE IN PERFORMANCE BETWEEN THE TWO.

Not... quite... sure what you mean, Todd.

Why are you shutting off the compressor? Doesn't your pressure switch do that for you when the tank pressure reaches the cut out level?

Or, is the issue that the tank pressure doesn't get to the normal cut out pressure level? I think that's what you mean by "IT SEEMS LIKE RUNS CONSTANTLY AND WONT BUILD MORE THAN 110 PSI."?

OK, if that is the case, on the troubleshooting page is a link to pages on why compressors won't build pressure. Have a look at those pages, and then add a comment here if they don't provide guidance, OK?

Cheers,

Bill
