PSI 150 releases all air at 150PSI

The compressor fills fine up to 150 PSI then a release valve next to the gauge trips and let's all the air out. I don't know enough to call the part by the proper name. It should be turning itself off but instead just releases air. Is there a simple adjustment I should make or does it need a new part? What part would that be?

What Bill said, unless it's supposed to only go to less than that, say 135. Then you can look to the pressure switch section.

Read the troubleshooting sections on unloader valves and tank check valves.

Your compressor problem is described and resolved there.
