problem in silent compressor starting

I have a silent compressor ...115 Vac ,60 hz.It starts for 2 seconds and shuts off .

You say it runs for 2 seconds and shuts off. That's a pretty short time, but can you see any pressure change in the tank while it's running.

When it shuts off, does the pressure switch trip off as if the tank was full, or does it trip an overload.

If there is zero pressure in the tank, if the compressor actually starts (air is being pumped into the tank) and the pressure switch trips to shut off the compressor, that suggests to me that the pressure switch itself is at fault.
