Pressure Switch operation

I have a Speedaire portable compressor model 5F222C purchased at Grainger. I was using the compressor the other day and it would not shut off. I "thought" it was the "$50.00" preasure switch I ordered from Grainger. After I installed the new switch it continued to run and will not shut off when it reached the proper preasue. Any ideas?

Jim, the thing that turns your compressor on and off is the Pressure Switch.

If your compressor continues to run past the high pressure cut out set point, that means that the pressure switch is not reacting to the higher pressure in the system, and not cutting the power to your motor.

If it's a new pressure switch, double check to make sure that it's wired properly, will you.

If it is, I'm convinced you need a new pressure switch.

Cheers,

Bill
