pressure switch leaks - why?

clarke 150 litre compressor, condor MDR 3 - EA pressure switch. compressor will charge up to full pressure (120 psi) then switch will leak to 100 psi and motor chimes in again to recharge to 120 psi.

it is a brand new pressure switch bought from machine mart.

is it simply a setting issue ?

Based on your description, I do not believe that you have a pressure switch problem. What I do think is that you have a CHECK VALVE problem.
