106-153781-Pressure switch assy

by Richard Bennett
(Quartzsite, Az USA)

Pressure switch cut-in and cut-out not working. Pressure switch contacts burnt. cleaned but now they stick & compressor won't shut off. Over pressure relief valve releases pressure & cycle continues. Sears compressor Model # 106-153781 Sears parts doesn't have part or a replacement part. What can I use and where can I get it, if available?

Hi Richard. Yup, it sounds as though your pressure switch is pooched.

Remove the old one and take it with you when you visit local industrial plumbing shops or industrial air valve and cylinder suppliers. Either should have a good selection of pressure switches in stock.

Make sure when you install the new one that, if it interfaces with the unloader, that it connects properly.

Or, visit the local compressor store and buy a pressure switch for any brand of compressor that has similar cut in / cut out. Again, make sure it installs correctly.

Cheers,

Bill

I too have been needing the model # for this compressor for a while now. My label also rubbed off. I recently found the manual, and the model # is 919.165500. I hope this helps any one else that may need it.

Hello Bill:

If you would navigate to the TROUBLESHOOTING page, and click the link to "will not build pressure" there's a ton of info there about why compressors keep running, but the air pressure will not go past a certain point.

Cheers,

Bill
