pressure relief is not working

the pressure is set to go to 90 then back to 70 to restart. it goes to 100, sets of thew pop off on the electric switch then goes back to 70 and restarts.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "sets of thew pop off on the electric switch".

However, if the pressure switch is set to shut off your air compressor at 90 PSI, and turn on the air compressor when the pressure gets to 70 PSI, and the air pressure in the tank is getting to 100 PSI, then to me, that means that your pressure switch is not working properly.

If I understand your compressor concern correctly then, it is time for a new pressure switch.
