pressure regulator valve does nothing when adjusting up and down?

Hi Bill,

There is indeed pressure in the tank but nothing shows on the pressure regulator gauge (hence no pressure makes it to the hose), despite moving the valve adjustment up and down. Does this mean the value needs replacing or is there further investigation which needs to be made? Have I found my problem?

Thanks very much... and well done your site!

kind regards, Bob

If you have air pressure in the tank but no pressure shows on the regulator gauge then it's one of two things.

One is that the regulator has been closed all the way and by turning the knob it doesn't open - therefore a bum regulator, or the second is that the regulator gauge is broken, but then, if you turn the knob on the regulator in both directions, eventually you would get air down the hose.

I suspect it's a new regulator that you need.
