PRESSURE QUESTION

by paul
(texas)

will a compressor rated at 150 psi fill a pipe to 125 psi.

Paul, sure it will.

However (isn't there always a however?) the size of pipe relating to the size of compressor may mean that it will take a long time.

For example, a mini 12volt compressor can output (some of them) 150 PSI. If your pipe was 6" diameter and 50' long, it would take a long time for that little compressor to bring the pipe pressure up to 125 psi.

Check out compressor sizing for more details.

Cheers,

Bill
