Will a top end overhaul kit remedy my problem?

I don't know what is in the kit, Marshall.

From your description, I suspect you have intake and pressure valve issues, and piston seals that are leaking.

chek valve

Marshall I would suggest you to first control the chek valve if it is leaking backwards

I couldn't locate any specs on this compressor. If this is a two piston compressor, and the PRV is in the line between the cylinders, then I would suspect the intake valve on the downstream cylinder is failing, slowing air flow, and back pressuring the line.

If it is a single piston cylinder, any current owners advice would sure be welcome.

Cheers,

Bill
