power - in our place there is a lot of power problem

hello,
iam having a SUGUNA 5HP air compressor 3HP motor,250 tank capacity, in our place there is a lot of power problem,3 phase current is not supplying from the TNEB side,voltage problem,
NOW MY question is in 5hp compressor if i put 2HP motor then it runs or not?
2hp motor will take load or not?

JEENU JAIN, you say you have a 5 HP compressor with a 3 HP motor. That, alone, seems to be a reason for problems.

Will your compressor run with a 2 HP motor? Maybe. I doubt if you will get full production out of it, and even if it does run, I expect you will be overloading the motor leading to its premature failure.
