porter-cable model cfbn125a not shutting off

Hi Bill, I have 6 gallon porter-cable model cfbn125a compressor and just recently see very little pressure on gauge and the unit continues to run without shutting off.

There seems to be air in the tank, so is it a bad gauge, or regulator/pressure switch?

It still works but with no viewing on capacity.

If the regulator is faulty, would that show low pressure on gauge? joe

You have two gages, right? If they both show low pressure, and you don't have the regulator set way low, then the should read about the same.

It sounds like you may have a blown head gasket.

But then, "It still works but with no viewing on capacity. " Depending on what that means, you may have a bad pressure switch.

Maybe you could figure out how to actually measure the pressure? Like try filling an external tank and see what the gage on that shows? or just replace the tank gage if you think it's wrong.

Have fun.
