Porter Cable blew a hose and now doesn't work?

(Elk Grove ca )

I was using my 26 gallon porter cable air compressor and it just blew up the air hose I was using and stared making a loud noise and now it won't come on it sounds like the motor is stuck.

But I would like to know before I but a new motor what made the hose bust like that?

Or was it just the motor going out.

While I suspect the two compressor issues are not necessarily related, some clarification from you would help.

Do you know at what pressure the regulator was set?

As to "what made the hose bust like that?", over pressure would do it, as would wear on the hose, melting it by leaning it against something hot, the possibilities are really endless, and it would only be conjecture on our part without knowing more details.

I wouldn't necessarily think that it is a new motor that's required, either, though it might be.

Perhaps you might take a moment and look at the pages linked from the troubleshooting main page on this site? See if they help you diagnose what's gone wrong, and then you can provide more details along with the model number? Thanks.
