looking for a valve on top of cylinder head , its leaking air through a small hole.

body tag model 33-1056 04-86

I cannot be positive, but I wonder if what you are lacking is an intake filter?

And if that is the intake port, and air is leaking out, then you likely have a valve problem.

Any other thoughts?

 Quincy compressor unloader valve

I recognize the pic as a Quincy brand compressor
Calle Binks in Canada. My understanding is it has a hole that allows the pressure to unload after the unit shuts off from pressure swith so there is no load on motor at start up.

If it is leaking continually then I suspect
the valves need to be looked at as these pumps dont need a check valve and the valve seals in the tank pressure
