Hi,I recently purchased a Speedaire 1Hp Oil-less Direct Drive Compressor(5Z032A)at a sale.Got it home and plugged it in;yes it works, but it seems a little noisy. It has an Auto On/Off switch, but it doesn't seem to be working properly.I can't shut it off manually when it's running. Is this normal? Also, when the unit is running, the copper tube from the compressor to the tank gets very HOT!Is this normal? And,is there a manual available for this unit? Please LMK;Thank You.

Bill says...Hi Allen.
I think you should be able to shut off the compressor wherever it is in the recharge cycle by shutting off the "shut off" switch. So, I would surmise that yours is fubar'ed.
Low cost compressor are always noisy. "Noisy" is very subjective though, so I really don't know how noisy yours is. Suffice to say that being in the proximity of a lower cost compressor can get very annoying, sound wise.
The tube from the compressor head will almost always get too hot to touch when the compressor is running. This is normal, and why that particular air line is metal as opposed to plastic.
If you need a manual, please
go here and fill in the blanks an hopefully some kind person can refer you to where you can get the manual for your Speedaire.
Cheers,
Bill
