One way valve

I bought a new compressor. In bringing it home, I was told it would be OK to turn it on it's side. Now the one way valve, I think, has oil in it as it is leaking air at the pressure switch when I turn it to off. Is there a way to clean this valve without taking it off? In other words, can I remove the tube coming from the head and squirt some brake clean or something to melt away the oil? The reason I ask is that the valve is very hard to reach. Thanks

Bill says...

If you can get to the check valve seat and seal via removing the air line, go for it.

If not, and you can't get the seal to seat properly, you need to tear it down to clean it.

Cheers,

Bill
