Is it possible to have one condensate tank for 4 series water and oil filters?

from the discharge of compressor the 1st filter is cyclonic,2nd & 3rd are 30 micron filters and the 4th is a cyclonic filter.

After the filters compressed air will go to dessicant dryer tank(dual).

Is it possible to have one condensate tank to collect all the drains from the 4 filters? I am planning to install only one drain valve from the condensate tank.

Having one condensate tank with one auto drain makes perfect sense to me.

The thing is that when an auto drain water filter unloads out it's drain, it's discharging water, water vapor, and compressed air. So, you don't want that to go to a closed pressure vessel as the back pressure will likely interfere with the operation of the auto filter.

Just my .02 worth.

Bill --

I have recently purchased a 6-gallon "pancake" compressor, which has a built-in regulator under a housing, but no filter. Although the normal location for a filter is up-stream from (prior to) a regulator in the air flow, can I simply add my filter on the output side of the regulator? Or should I add a second regulator after the filter? I want to use this for air brush painting, and I think I need the filter.

Hi Bob.
You are right. The location for a compressed air filter is upstream from the air component it is trying to protect, in the regulator case, keeping "bricks and mortar" flowing down the air stream from contaminating the regulator workings.

Yet, as I say on the filters page (I think) you should install a compressed air filter anywhere in the air circuit where the downstream air equipment would benefit.

In your case, you want to get water out of the air stream, so sure, put one right before the spray paint gun if you can, or as close to it as you can.

Cheers,

Bill

AIR/OIL SEPARATOR

When and why the spin on air/oil separator in the rotary screw element compressor explodes internally , and in some times the air/oil separator explodes & flys high plus destroying the base elements?
______________
I am happy to post this for you Hazem. It would have been helpful to know what make and model of air compressor you are referring to.

Certainly not to be applied to the filter element, Spanky.

Numatics should respond to this to give you the official line. My thoughts are that it is for the threads on the element to ensure that the element, since it will plug much sooner than the 5 micron element, will be easily removed.

Still, contact Numatics for this one, won't you? They are represented in Canada by Asco Valve.
