Omega 5 gal compressor won't start

by Gerald
(Edmonton Alberta Canada)

I have an Omega compressor that doesn't start. Power outlet is good, power cord is good, oil level is good. Could it be the rest circuit breaker on the unit !!! And how would I go checking this breaker, the button does not go down all the way only 1/8 inch.

Bill says...

Hello Gerald.

Not knowing the compressor, I'm guessing from your comment that the circuit breaker is on a panel on the front of the compressor?

Are you comfortable with bypassing it?

Does the power flow through the circuit breaker to the pressure switch? Are you seeing or hearing anything from the pressure switch when you turn the compressor on?

Is there pressure in the tank? Pull the PRV valve to make sure the pressure in the tank is below the cut in pressure point.

Just some things to think about, Gerald.

Cheers,

Bill
