Bad photo, numbers are N3541 and 12-11-3

I picked up this compressor (with tank and motor) from craigslist for free. It was disassembled when I found it so I have reassembled it.

Having trouble with leaky rings, low pressure in tank and high crankcase pressure.

I don't know much about it other than what you can see in the photos, I have searched the numbers which only led me to another forum where the compressor was not ID'd.

If you have any idea what it could be please let me know.

Help with older compressor
by: Bill

Randy, identifying it is one thing. Fixing it is another.

You don't indicate clearly, at least to me, what information you are seeking. Is there a problem with the compressor that you are trying to address?

If so, this one is clearly a reciprocating compressor, and the troubleshooting pages on this website have lots of information about various problems common to this type of compressor, and things you can do to fix them.

Please post more information as to what help, besides just identifying the compressor, that you think your compressor repair will require, the more specific the better. Thanks.

Oldie but goodie air compressor

I found this gem at an old homestead. Went on the web and no info is to be found using the name Cromwel.

Built in 1956 on the tank with 1/4 inch shell and head she's hefty.

From empty, ten rotations of wheel puts a breath of air into the tank but with an internal clunk on each turn. I suspect a rod/crank issue but haven't investigated further.

Wide and long motor adj slots indicate possible gas motor power.

Any info would be appreciated as well as you opinion on what hp electric motor you would use given she'll be able to work.

And yes it came with that paint job. Thank You, Steve.
