Oil Mist Measurement for Oil Free Air Compressor

Dear Sir/Madam,

Anyone can share how is the oil mist measured for oil free air compressors outlet air or discharged air? Is the below measurement method correct ?

Recently we have engaged a vendor & conduct a measurement method as follows :

Air sample was allowed to pass through a membrane filter at a controlled flow rate, the flow rate of the gas stream passing through the filter is measured using a rotameter and controlled at 2.0 L/min during sampling for 1.5 to 2 hours.

Infrared spectrophotometry was used to identify organic compounds and quantify its concentration in the sample.

The oil concentration is measured based on this infrared light absorption principle.

Kind regards,

...or contamination.

Sounds reasonable to me. Do you doubt the methodology?
