Way to go Doug. Your "guess" was the answer. Here it is right from the horse's mouth...

Hi,

Yes correct remove the sight glass and tilt the unit forward.

Graham

Yes, tilting could be unsafe, so maybe try the baster approach next year.

By then, maybe the Bambi people will have answered the question better.

Bambi oil drain

Hi.. many thanks for taking the time to comment on the oil drain problem. Have taken Doug`s suggestion and removed the sight glass, tipped the compressor over at 45deg and drained oil. It seems the only solution but not very safe! would recommend another pair of hands just in case.

Editorial comment:
Compressor oil changes are nearly always a PITA.

Technically, here's a SWAG on that:

Let it cool. Remove the sight glass with something underneath to catch oil. Tilt maybe 45 degrees to get most of the rest out, and/or use a syringe type baster and some tube to draw out the rest.

It's not clear what kind of gasket is on the glass, but if it is damaged, you can use an o-ring.

Have fun.

Bambi MD 75/150 oil drain
by: Bill

Hey Brian, good question.

I spent a good amount of time looking at Bambi manuals, reviewing all images I could find on line, and like you, found that no where do they refer to the oil drain plug in any document I found or is it clearly visible in any photo.

I have contacted Bambi service and asked them, and will report back as a comment here when (if?) I get a response.

Bill
