oil come out of fill cap when compressor kicks on

2.5 hp 21 gallon 125 psi. Had this compressor for a few years with no trouble now it is shooting oil out of the fill cap when the compressor starts. The oil is milky white . Is this over fill and what need to be done about.

Oil out of fill cap

Hey Josh, if it's overfilled, drain out some of the oil from the sump until it's the right fill level.

If it's not overfilled, you likely have significant blowby of the piston seals, and it's time for a teardown, and replacement of piston seals, and if you want to do a good rebuild, replace the valve plate and gaskets too.
